Our story began over three decades ago with a simple act of
love and resourcefulness.

When a freezer malfunctioned, leaving a large quantity of frozen fish thawing, Chef Yusef El-Amin saw an opportunity.

Instead of discarding the fish, he turned it into a community feast - known as the legendary "Friday Fish Fry." The resounding success sparked a passion for community building and sharing delicious, authentic soul food - but healthier!

From those humble beginnings, Chef El-Amin opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant in New Rochelle, New York. Chef innovated a healthier alternative to traditional soul food prepared with Halal meats, free of all pork/pork by-products. Chef celebrated recipes handed down by family and friends, incorporating the freshest, healthiest & highest quality possible - with a modern gourmet twist. Our establishment was a beloved destination for home-cooked comfort food for over a decade!
